What punishment should be given to Alan "Nutjob" Black after going mental at Wasps?
What on earth was going through Alan Black's brain when he started twatting Clermont prop Martin Scelzo with his programme at the weekend?
The ex Wasps captain was being paid to be there by the RFU (brilliant) started thumping Puma Scelzo with his rolled up £2.60 book in the 58th minute, at which point the brawl spilt onto the sidelines.
Unsurprisingly he was booted out of Adams Park and Wasps’ chief executive Tony Copsey promised a full investigation into the incident, saying, “An individual was identified and expelled from the ground immediately. It was an unfortunate incident because something of this nature has never happened before..."
"It’s an unfortunate moment for rugby," he continued, "that an incident like this should happen during a fantastic match, possibly one of the best ever Heineken Cup games. The club will consider its position and will fully investigate what happened. We won’t over-react to the situation, but want to look at it in its fullness. A season or lifetime ban might be forthcoming.”
So what do you think should happen to the normally level headed Black? Surely he can't represent the RFU anymore? Surely he's got to be banned from every rugby ground in the country for a while. After all, if he had just been a regular punter, the police would have no doubt been called, and he'd have been banned for life...

Alan Black taught and coached me approx 35 years ago at Grammar school in Marlow. He was a great man and coach who insisted on teaching and playing the game in a sportsmanlike fashion. He played for fun just as I try to teach the kids in Pennsylvania.
I left for my career in the USA and have carried on playing and coaching in the US, just as he would have approved.
It was a moment of madness. We all have been guilty of that,
He is no nutjob.
