The Daily Hubris: Over to You, SA
You'd think they'd learn. Despite all the hype, national breast-beating, bragging and 'expert' predictions (to which we're also partial!) being shown up as a massive pile of horse poop from the first match of the Rugby World Cup, the media are still turning up, doggedly, to issue The Truth every day.
Today, it's the Spingboks' turn to go through the mangle against an unfancied Fijian side. Over to Gary Teichmann of SA's Sunday Tribune:
"Jake White's team to play Fiji in Sunday's do-or-die quarterfinal certainly picked itself but you have to say the coach's selections have definitely been made easier thanks to some very mediocre performances from the back-up players.
Having said that, it is a very strong team that shouldn't have a problem seeing off the Fijians."
Should have no problem, as long as they don't have uncontested scrums, for example...
Don't they ever learn!

The Fijians played well and yes well above their weight...but come on..scrummaging is part of the game...that why it is called 15 man rugby. If you want uncontested scrums why don't they just go and play league?
