Yay Or Nay: England's World Cup Chances

Question_14 All Black legend Zinzan Brooke has dismissed England's chances of retaining the World Cup, saying that they will "need a miracle" if they are to repeat their 2003 triumph next year.  Since that victory, England are deemed to have gone backwards, with a poor record in the Six Nations, and have lost their last five tests.  Brooke believes that it is too late to entirely reverse that trend, with a tricky autumn programme ahead for Andy Robinson's men, where in 2002 Clive Woodward's side carried all before them.

"Some of them are good players but they are not going to be up there. They will be competitive, a quarter-final side, maybe semis, but not a final side," said Brooke, before going on to pinpoint the delay in action on the coaching side, where a post-Six Nations cull took place, as a reason for the slide. "They have finally had the guts to kick a few of these guys into touch but Andy should have formed a new structure two years ago," he said. "They are going to have to try new combinations this year and I don't think they are going to turn it around, it is just too late. I don't see this team being up there. Can they get there? Maybe, but they will need a miracle."

Do you agree with Zinzan Brooke?  Do you see England saying goodbye at the quarter-final stage, or do you think they can go further?  A dedicated team of mathematicians is waiting for your response, having counted and verified last week's vote.  Singular.  You said that uncontested scrums were a bad idea.  (Thanks, Molly)  How far do you think England will go?
