Stuart Abbott Suspended For Three Weeks
Harlequins centre Stuart Abbott will miss three weeks as punishment for a dangerous tackle in the team's opening Premiership game against Lodon Irish. The tackle, on Irish's scrum-half Paul Hodgson, means that Abbott, who was at the centre of the highest-profile move of the summer, will miss his new side's visit to his old side, Wasps, as well as a clash against Leicester the following week. Abbott will also be out for the first EDF Energy Cup game against Llanelli Scarlets.
The news will be a huge blow to a Quins side who have started the season with two consecutive defeats and can ill afford to take on two Premiership giants without one of their stars. Abbott pleaded guilty to the offence, so there will be no appeal.
